World's Proudest

Did someone in your life come out? Do you want to show them how much you support them? Are you the World's Proudest - Mom, Dad, Sister, Son, Friend, Cousin etc etc etc?

Sometimes (most times) coming out can be a really traumatic experience full of anxiety, confusion and fear. Not everyone has story of acceptance. I was lucky, my famly supported me and accepted me. Even with support and acceptance there are those tiny little actions that mean the world.

Near the end of the 90's I had moved across the country and was talking to my Nan (my Grandma) on the phone and she told me about a new show she was watching and recommended I watch it too. The show was Queer as Folk. Of course I already knew about it and was already watching, but to know MY GRANDMA had started watching it and wanted to share that with me was the biggest, tightest, warmest hug. Every time I watch that show I'm reminded of her love and support.

Imagine if someone in your house sees you having coffee in a World's Proudest..... mug each morning. Sometimes we say the biggest things without saying anything at all.
